Attn Rim buyers: individual invoices for group buy

Rim buyers,

Below is what you individually owe me so that I can pay the invoice from Syncro Services:

  1. 1 set of 5 15-inch Mefro rims $340
  2. 1 set of fasteners $70
  3. One-fifth share of shipping/insurance costs: $114
Total $524

Gary, you only owe $340 + $114, as you are just buying the set of rims. Total $454.

Theo, you owe an additional $67.60 for your handbrake cables. Total $591.60.

I have used today's RBA rate to calculate the exchange. As this is a mid rate, I have rounded up the amounts slightly. For instance, a rim set is 240 euros. At today's RBA rate, this works out to $338.50, which I have rounded up to $340. I hope everyone is happy with this and we will keep our fingers crossed that there are no unforseen major fluctuations in the euro/dollar exchange rate meanwhile. Hardly likely, however....

I will also go with Ken's suggestion: 'should there be any under or over payments to you from buyers in their initial payments, simply add/subtract these in conjunction with each individuals final payment for the remainder costs whenever it is required i.e., the local GST, customs, cartage etc.'

I hope that's all fine by everyone. I can reassure you that my intention is to charge you as accurately as possible for your share when all is said and done. A second/final invoice will be sent to you once the rims arrive at Gary's warehouse to account for the standard costs incurred in clearing through customs, GST, cartage, etc.

Please forward payment to me (preferably by EFT) at this ANZ account:

Mr A P Balint and Ms F Coles BSB: 013-435 Account No: 5612-04433

All payments to be made to me by 5pm, Monday 25 October. (The current offer stands until COB 25 October (European time), and I will process the payment on Monday evening via PayPal.) Please let me know in advance if you can't make this deadline.

Thanks for bearing with me. Looking forward to closing the deal on a rim and a prayer,

Francesca.

Francesca

Is that account number a credit card? I've just tried to transfer the money but my online banking won't allow me to enter both the BSB and Account number. Think if it's a credit card I only need to enter the account number, just want to make sure the money goes to the correct account.

BTW, thanks for your efforts.

Craig

Hi Craig,

No, that's our Access Value everyday bank account. I've rechecked the
numbers. Strange that it won't go through. Perhaps try again. Usually
there are separate boxes for BSB and Account Nos, I think. Let me know
if you have any more hassles.

Cheers,

Francesca.

Craig i think it's just an EFT transfer you'll need to do, probably need to take out the hyphens from the numbers, that could be the problem. I'll do it now and advise if i have trouble.

Francesca,

Yeah your numbers are correct I entered a 516... account number, and then re-entered it several times, sorry I can't read. I've scheduled my payment, you should see it as reference CraigSyncroRims.

Thanks for your help.

Gary,

I initially typed the wrong numbers and from then on it wouldn't let me go forward. I logged out and then back in, my payment then seemed to go through straight away. Not saying this is the reason and it shouldn't be but might be worth trying logging out then in.

OR I've just transferred $524 dollars to some other lucky person

Very helpfully, ANZ have just told me that all those details are
correct and that there shouldn't be a problem. They suggested looking
into it from your end if the payment doesn't want to go through. Not
sure what else to suggest.

Payment went straight through Francesca. $524. Don’t know what all the hassles were. No hyphens of course. I use the ANZ system for nearly all my bill paying these days.

The option of paying via that colleague in Nigeria was tempting but as their FIFA delegate has been suspended for possible corruption I thought I should transfer the cash to you!!!!!

Many thanks for co-ordinating the group purchase. Next trick will be getting mine up to the mid north coast. I am sure I will work it out.

Cheers, Peter from Port M

Ha ha. Nice one Tom.

Peter

Francesca,
My payment went through all right but with out the hyphen. (within 2
business days)
Thanks again for getting the rim buy organized.
Theo
Thanks Theo and Peter. We're poised for payment now. Sorry the rims
won't make it in time for the DOTVW for you, Peter, but there were
some unexpected delays. I suppose someone might be heading north from
Melbourne at some stage soon who could at least bring them closer to
you?

Anyway, to quote our dear friend Roger Bell: 'where there's a wheel
there's a way', or 'all's wheel that ends well'.

And just to add some extremely wet fuel to your excellent Nigerian
suggestion Thomas, here's a lame attempt at a limerick:

There once was a cartel from Nigeria,
That fomented worldwide hysteria,
They sent round a scam,
Via internet spam,
And fleeced us all through the posterior.

Sorry, its Friday.....

Francesca.
