Audible alarm

Phill,

I had no idea that any audibles were fitted to these vehicles.  Tell me where and what, and I will look for it.

It probably wouldn't be too difficult to connect it to the dynamic oil pressure audible warning that is already fitted.

.

You have two oil pressure switches. One is the usual low pressure switch that goes to earth with low oil pressure as fitted to most cars for 100 years. There is an extra pressure switch that is normally earthed and goes open circuit when the pressure reaches about 1.2(?) bar. There is an electronic relay that only lets this operate over 2000 rpm and sounds an audible alarm. To test it, just disconnect the high pressure sensor and when the engine revs to 2000 rpm the alarm will sound.

Phill,

Thanks for that - I had no idea that it was there !!

This prompted me to pull out the original owner's instruction manual.  To my considerable chagrin, it is clearly spelt out on Page 39:

"If the (oil) warning lamp does not go out, or flashes when driving - at an engine speed of approx 2000 RPM, a buzzer will also sound......."

Colour me pink !!

Where is the audible located?  And where is the second pressure switch located?

In the dash somewhere.

And where is the second pressure switch located?
