Axle

Hi all,

the spring lift drama continues on my 89 syncro. This time I'm replacing
all front CV's as they didn't appreciate being moved out of their old
comfort zone. A straightforward job you may think. No chance.
I discovered a 14" axle on one side and a 16" axle on the other !!
Syncro was in an accident way before me and had a weird repair

Can anyone suggest where I might track down a standard axle ? The
outer CV spline is a larger diameter on a 16".So I need one 14" left
front axle.
Or pay for one 16" CV !

You have to be committed ( to the syncro or soon the asylum )

Thanks,

Mark
Mark,
For some reason there is different axles for different boxes. Are you sure that it's a 16"?
The price of 2 CVs used to be the same with a new axle. The 16" axle may be worth selling.

Where abouts are you?

Hi Phill,

good call on selling the axle . I'm in Perth. I'll ask my mechanic about the CV/Axle set.
My condolences to all those caught up in the horror that is fire.
