Big brake rotors.

Hi group, need to replace the rotors on my Van Cafe Audi based big brake conversion. Does anyone know the Audi model that the rotors come from? Trying to source them localy rather than shipping from the states. Have so far narrowed the search to an Audi a3 or a4. they seem to have the same dimensions for the rotors but not sure of the centre bore and size of the stud holes they come with. Thanks , Eddie.
Eddie,if they are the same as mine(smallcar),the rotors are from a Passat. The calipers were from an early Audi 100 or 200.I think I still have the boxes with part numbers,I will look on Monday.

Hi,

I have just received my big brake kit from Smallcars and I have attached a photo of the label on the box of the rotor.

They are made by TEXTAR.

Hope this helps.

I have done some detective work on the TEXTAR website. Attached are 4 screen shoots and a link to the website.

Thanks all for the detective work. Have a few leads now & have found rotors with the right specs on DBA's website that fit an audi A3. Will also check the rotors on my in laws' Passat to see if these are the same.
Cheers Eddie.

Picked up my new rotors yesterday at my local brake supplier. They are RDA brand , with all the right specs to suit the van cafe big brake kit. They are slightly bigger than the small car kit, 288 vs 282, but all other dimensions are the same. I got the better than sandard rotors as these are grooved and dimpled. Cost was $210. Will report on performance when I get them on.Thanks to Peter for the link to the Textar website. Eddie.

Installed the rotors & all is working great. Have a question for Peter & Ben. I believe you both have the small car kit & if this kit was supplied with the rotors from a passat & have a 68mm centre bore what, if anything, did you or did small car recommend you do, with the small difference in the 68mm c/b on the rotors and the 66.6mm hub on the van? I made up some spacers to take up the slack & centre the rotor but I'm curious to know if you had to do the same.

I have SCP rotors all round.
No centering / ring used just 68mm bore. No balance issues what so ever.

Thanks Ben and Hamish. The rotors I got are from a Passat as Ben has described. I was curious as to whether the bigger centre bore on these would make for some vibrations & Hamish has answered that. I still don't know which rotors Van Cafe supply with their kits, as the c/b is the correct size. Maybe they get something with a smaller bore & then machine them. I' m just happy I've found a local supply that works well, and at a reasonable price. Eddie.
