D6 Compound

Does anyone know what D6 compound is?

It is put on the axles.
Are you talking about the grease in the CVs? Or actually about the
outside of the axles? First would be standard MoSi2 grease.

No, not the grease.

Page 40.18 of the Bentley

" -apply locking compound D6 around the splines of the outer CV joint in a bead approximately 20mm wide. "

Any ideas?????

Hey Phil, i looked it up in the German version and they also talk
about "D 6", which seems to be something like Loctite thread locking
glue. I haven't seen anyone actually using that kind of stuff, most
people even use copper paste or mentioned molycote grease to make sure
that CV comes out easily next time. Wouldn't care too much about it.
Just remember the 350NM for the other nut and that should do it.

Ciao,

Martin
