Could It be wheel bearings or might it be carrier bearings in the front diff ? Any way of diagnosing more accurately as I have a long trip coming up over Christmas.
When you turn right, the load increases on the left wheel bearing.
CVs are usually more of a clunking sound.

One of the first indication of failing bearings is a rise in temperature. Depending on the amount of wear the rise could be only a few degrees. Sensing the heat build-up with your hand on the stub axel nuts of the two front wheels could tell a temperature difference. A more accurate way is to use an IR gauge. (These are available cheaply – under $20 – I purchased a “Duratrax” on eBay). I was able to diagnose a failing front bearing which just started pitting on the inner race by this method. Do the measuring after a long drive allowing a good build-up of heat.
