Drive-train Problems

OK Phill, thanks for that. I'll get onto them and ask what the
difference in dimensions is.
Michael.

I spoke with Hardi Spicer Phill, and they advised that the K5-A590
is an Agricultural Universal and that the K5-A767 is the correct
Syncro Uni. The former is 27mm diameter cap and 70mm overall, making
it .2mm longer/wider. I guess it could be used with a little
grinding of the circlips. With a price of just $28.50 it's certainly
worth some thought.

Michael.

I think that some research is needed here. If you use the wrong one it will cause big problems and damage! I wouldn't just go on price and I never believe salesmen.

Did the salesman measure the old one?

Phill, you have lost me somewhere along the line there. I did not buy
my Syncro new and have no way of finding out the previous replacements.
If I measure a failed Uni, how will I know if it failed 'cos of old
age or it failed because it was incorrect? At this stage I think I'd
prefer to take the Hardi Spencer listing even tho' it's more expensive.

Michael. (not meaning to create any animosity)

See if you can get a part number from other sources. Where did the salesman get the part number from? Does Rudi have any spares?

I am not saying that my part number is correct, but there is a big chance that the salesman's catalogue is wrong as most of them are. What does the listing say?

Try some other forums. SA or US etc.
