FW: Re: [Syncro_T3_Australia] Re: improved braking

Yeah well the T3 drum brakes are a joke. Why didn't VW just simply stay with the superior design and functional T2 rear drum brakes?

Probably the bean counters won out ... again. Saved about $2.

The adjusters have never worked from new.
Very hard to adjust on a syncro.

Maybe then US T2 drum brakes are as crappy as T3s.
Or else you haven't compared their design and functionality.
I own both. I have used/serviced both. T2 is superior. End of story.

re

Maybe your rear brakes are different than on US model syncro's ..
there is nothing hard about adjusting or dealing with syncro rear brakes.
not if a person is at all handy with working on brakes.
Pretty conventional and straight forward I'd say.

re these supposedly superior T2 brakes..
are those the old fashioned traditional VW type with adjuster stars at the bottom.
and not self-adjusting ?

sorry,. I just don't have any problems with T3 rear drum brakes.

I have a few tricks I suppose..
but I have lots of tricks for fixing T3's overall.

No, you need to have 2 wheels off the ground or you cannot rotate the wheels on a syncro.

That's correct.
