Hi Gary I have diagrams of the projekt2 bumpers with the Dimentions
and angles to which the bars have to be bent, so if you need these just mail me

I agree, the US seem to have that well sorted with lots of replica parts for older veedubs as well as the Vanagon (the latter not as complete though).

I need to find a local fabricator and get some ideas about what could be done.

Cheers
Gary

I second that Les,

These are typical Australian, it would be great if someone would copy them.
If we want to keep our T3’s rolling I think it’s important to start copying stuff that is no longer produced.
That’s what they did and still do with parts beetles and T1’s, and that’s what we’ll have to do for our T3’s too.

Gary,

If you are contemplating getting something made, you can also copy the Trakka front and rears that were fitted to the T3.  They are strong, practical and look the part.  With the addition of the 10 mm galvanized mesh, they also help protect the front paint.  I have driving lights mounted in the top centre bay on mine, also protected by the mesh.

Les

Thanks Mike, be nice to get some made in 6cm aluminium maybe if the strength could be achieved? I agree the smaller tube looks better.

I have a bullbar on my syncro which I’ve removed as it is steel and very heavy. I might put it back if I go bush. I like the look of your bumpers with the smaller upright bar on top of the bumper, seems a good compromise.

Would your friend have technical drawings he’d be willing to sell to me so that I could get some built locally?

Gary
