I am 32.I live in Menai,Sydney.I am married, with one daughter, who is one.I am a motor mechanic buy trade,I did my time with City Ford,Crown St,where i also worked as a road tester and service adviser.I have also worked in constuction, as a concreter/labourer,with Barclay Mowlem on the Woronora Bridge and the Sea Cliff Bridge.I also worked with Abi Group on the Bangor By-Pass,where I also made bridges and roads, and even drove machinery like an 825 and a Scraper truck.I worked for 3 years as a machine operator with Ingall Civil Products fabricating things like Guard Rail and road safety systems, Hel-cor pipe up to 3.8m,Super-core plate for tunnels, and I slit Colourbond for BHP.I have also built a Church and delivered Party Ice, from Canberra to Lithgow to Newcastle with Abco Ice.I now find myself as the manager of Majestic Aquariums,Taren Point, probably the biggest aquarium store in Australia.Google us.
I learnt to drive on my Mums Micro Bus.I have owned both watercooled and air cooled Volkswagens,a two-speed Corolla and a Kingswood station wagon.I still have my 1976 XC Fairmont, which was a ground up rebuild from 99-01,that was my Grandfathers. What a smicko, fast, loud, old beast it is.I have owned 2 T3's,one a 91 panvan and now a silver 90 Trakka.
I was at work one day when I saw her.A silver Syncro that looked nice.I chased it up the carpark, where I waited and stalked the owner.I waited for him to get back in the car, then I jumped him."Nice Syncro mate",I said."Do you want to sell it".I bought it the next day.It was one of the luckest days of my life.A tidy van, that had been looked after, with service history and some recent repair reciepts.Turns out between 04-06 the bus, had had such repairs as gearbox work, including Crown Wheel and pinion, clutch slave, wheel cylinders, brakes, new drums, clutch, and also new head gaskets.Only after I had her for less than a year, she started to jump out of forth gear.I pulled the box out,and contacted the previous repairer where,Jan from Wolksburg Engineering, was happy to help me.He replaced fourth gear and gave me a Golf to run around in.Been sweet since.I myself ,have also done the wheel cylinders again, belts, fuel filter, plugs, air filter,re-packed CV's,oils, coolant, brake fluid, shocks, lower control arm bushes and tyres.
After Christmas, when I holiday in Hat Head NSW,where I have been known to embaress Hilux and other 4x4,on the beach, and tracks around the Nasho, I will be doing a Subaru conversion.EJ25 or possible H6.I am finding it difficult to find imformation on Subaru conversions in Australia.Anyone who is knowledgable in this field,I would be greatful to hear from you.
Anyway,Ive had fun telling you all about me,I hope that I can learn more about our amazing machines, get to know you all,and do some amazing trips with you guys.Thankyou again.
