we have many people with Borbet in these dimensions, the size
shouldn't be the Problem. You will need spacers of course...

Sorry I was away on a trip. The wheel in the lower portion that you refer to is the run-of-the-mill alloys offered on Vanagons (14X6 at ET30) in the US. The ones AMG used are of larger diameter and deeper dish. There are a number of aftermarket suppliers making knock-offs in 15",16",17" and 19" in this pattern. Offsets are all over the place.
 
It is important to note that VW was able to offer alloy wheels as an option w/o resorting to longer studs by using 60° conical lughole seats. The cone shaped lugnuts could then "reach" further into the wheel to get the requisite 7.5 turns that VW specified for safe attachment. I think that translates to about 1/2 inch of engagement. So no longer studs. Just get conical seat lugnuts. It's much simper especially for those long front studs on Syncros.
