Thanks Greg, yes you are correct , life's too plimmen short to worry about a few $$

On another topic, I visited Les some time ago and found him in not too good health and in general very short of finances. Am thinking if it would be possible to charge say $20 or whatever as a yearly contribution to be invited onto that beautiful Syncro knowledge group. What do you think?

Hart,

I will be in that.

Merry Christmas.

The $20 per annum fee is a pittance for the knowledge you have access to
(and expertise)and saves many more dollars. Am very willing to
contribute.

BTW
I am still trying to sort out my intermittent engine cut out problem.
Temperature related I think.

I was certain that a new distributor would sort it but didn't. Before
that I had bought and installed a new coil, plugs and leads.

When it doesn't start there is no spark from the coil.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Les mentioned the temp II sensor.
How can I test it?
Does anybody know the part number?

Hi Peter,

I'll start by saying I'm no expert! Just doubling up on what people have already said and you've already tried. The Digifant document recently uploaded also says common faults stem from bad earth connections, vacuum leaks, wiring issues and the temp sensor.

It shows ohm readings for the temp sensor at various temperatures as a way to check them.

Just reading specific to no spark, again check for poor earth, broken wires/connectors.

After that checking through each items, power to coil, power/earth at plug to distributor, plus signal from ECU at the plug.

As you've already replaced the coil and distributor (assume both are good working ones), if the wiring checks out the next this is issues in the ECU.
