price for viscous coupling

What are the options for replacement coupling eg reco , import , or
aus part , or decoupler if coupling is tight ? Have read there was a
bulk buy of decouplers , any one looking to import parts perhaps
another bulk buy ? Which way is most common fix for this common
problem .
Thanks for this site has helped understand these unique vehicles

do you want? the price for a vc is au $3175, this is ex germany and
will incour taxes, a vc from america is us$1100 plus transport and
taxes. i managed to pick up a second hand front gearbox complete from
euro car parts (all over au)for au$800. the unit works very well and im
happy with it! hope thats answered one of your questions. cheers jon

The bulk buy of decouplers was a couple of years ago. 
 
If you have an aggressive VC, a decoupler will enable you to disengage the four wheel drive for things like full lock manoeuvres and thus reduce the strain on the drive system.  If you have a non-functioning VC, then you don't have four wheel drive at all.  To restore four wheel drive, you will need to get a functioning VC.
