replacement of lifters

Hey Guys,
Has anyone replaced their lifters recently as i am thinking
of doing mine. Mine has one that is not lasting to oil change as well
as it used to. Have read that you can let them soak overnight to purge
air? any tips would be appreciated. Approx cost etc. Pushrod tubes ?

Thanks in Advance
Pete

HI Pete

I have read on the SyncroSA site that putting ATF in the engine oil helps to clean and restore lifters.

1 L of ATF (after draining1L engine oil) and running 200 km or so. I have not tried this myself but it could

be an easy way to solve noisy lifters.

When I bought my Syncro, it had sat in the back of  workshop for three years.  After not being run for this length of time, it had a clicking lifter.  Volkspower, to whom I took it for a comprehensive service, gave me a propriety lifter de-gummer and by the end of that tank-full of petrol, it was back to normal.  Can't remember what it was but such propriety treatments seem to work well.
