Reposted Message re Coolant

David,

I spoke to Lloyd Davies (Volkwerke, Melbourne) last night about this.  He continues to use G11 and says that 12+ might or might not offer any advantages but he doesn't do enough MV engines these days to be able to form an opinion.  He uses a 30% coolant/water mix and says that this is adequate for Australia.   He mentioned a case some years ago of seeing an MV engine running on 100% and that the hoses were being eaten away as a result.

In respect of what's written on the container, consumer protection legislation around the world is making manufacturers a lot more circumspect about claims made for their product.  Rest assured that the German coolants designed for Mercedes and BMW will be of the best available quality and will not induce runaway corrosion.

What Ken posted wasn't written on the container, but by a retailer.

Delayed postings usually cause confusion.   This was addressed to David, who was asking about what was written on the container.

I`ve given the cooling system a good flush last week and am very happy with the G11 50:50 with distilled water, that Im now running. The syncro climbed the Dorrigo mountain on the weekend pushing hard in 2 and 3rd most of the way and stayed cool. The Dorrigo Folk Festival and having the syncro there to retreat too overnight was also very cool.
Thanks for the info on coolant
Cheers Dave
