Reproduction Fuel Rail

All,
This may be of interest, in particular those who might like the option to check fuel pressure at the rail.

Is there a history of VAG plastic fuel rails degrading/leaking/failing?

Cheers.

Looks good but I think that plastic gauge is more of a weak point than the tried and tested vag rail. Better off with a s/s quick connector to plug in the gauge when needed. Most modern cars have a schraider valve in the rail for this porpose. Greg

fwiw, of many hundreds of vanagons worked on , I've never seen a problem with those plastic fuel rail things.
About the best plastic in the whole world appaently.
( wish they would have made the instrument housing out of the same plastic !  - sinse those break so easily. )

I can't quite approve of having a fuel pressure guage on the fuel rail full time.
Just does not seem 100 % kosher and safe.  It is not unknown for a pressure guage to fail.
'no manufacturer does it that way.'  ............that's one thing I go on, in engine conversions and so forth.

also ........100 psi is possible if fuel pressure regulator fails, or if the return line gets plugged somehow.
that little 10 dollar guage can handle that ?
Just does not strike me as fundamentally correct and safe.

the aluminum instead of plastic - I like that though.
And I've never seen a plastic one fail in any way.
