Hey Guys.. greetings from the sunny Bay of Plenty

Here's one to get the thinking buds working..

After the great success of the 60th Commemorative tour of the South Island last Easter, a few of us have got together and have put together a tour around the Coromandel and Bay of Plenty for VW's and their enthusiasts.

The Surf n Soak VW Tour 2011 will start on Monday 25th April 2011, after the Volkswagen Nationals in Auckland. Will end ten days later in Taupo Wednesday 4th May

The Surf n Soak VW Tour 2011 is open to all VW enthusiasts.

Participants can leave or join the tour at any stage to suit their requirements.

The Surf n Soak VW Tour 2011 will have daily travel plan with suggested places of interest to visit en route and a list of camp sites that the tour will stay at each night. has given us a page on their site for information up-dates. Its free to join Kombizone.

There will be some memorabilia for this tour, details to follow. Memorabilia will need to be ordered and paid for by cut off date Sunday 27th March 2011.

Day 3 Wednesday 27th-"Welcome to the Coromandel" H/Way 25

On arrival at Thames take time to visit some of the local attractions Historical museum, School of mines War Memorial Monument a great viewpoint then a scenic drive along the Pohutukawa Coast to Te Puru, Waiomu, Tapu onto

An easy drive to Whakatane, then over the hill To Ohope beach, then following the road around the harbour to Ohiwa.. a place time has forgotten.. a beautiful beach stretching to the East Cape. Great beach and hill walking.

In camp thermal pool, The regions magnificent thermal activity can be seen at Wairakei Thermal Valley & Orakei Korako to the north of town, view the Huka Falls the largest on the Waikato river, take a jet boat ride or a bungy jump or tandem sky dive, try a quiet canoe on the lake ?
