Hi All,

Found a 2wd T3 / T25 DOKA for sale @ Lake Munmorah on the Central Coast
for $6000 ono. It has small bits of rust under the windscreen and around
the outside of the tray.

Nice 2 tone paint and alloy wheels - looks great from the photos.

Cheers,

Quite like these decals. Anyone know if these are original and still available or custom? Nice van - anyone on here?

Hi Jon,

Those decals where at least on some of the demo cars from VW. Have a look at the brochures:

Not sure if you were actually able to order them.

Cheers Arne

Hi Jon,...and anyone else interested in decals for our Syncros
Have a look at:

or:

Gerald
Thanks Gerald - good links. The decals on the van look like they are in black which is the colour I would want having the same colour van. The syncro4x4 website only has them in grey or silver. Probably easy for a sign writer to knock up given a template.

Hi Jon, over the years I've used the local Autobarn for some stickers and decals. They are very helpful. It could be another option for you.
Gerald
Black ones are for e.g. available from Bernd Jaeger:

$30k for an empty van with a Subi motor... Really ?
Tell him he's dreamin'..........from "The Castle".

Just when I have been contemplating culling my fleet of VW's and looking at anther Syncro to put in the shed.

Might be out of my reach!!

Guess that if he gets that price, my “Show Car”, is now worth 50K.

Its a bargain if a splitty is rising past $200000 and a new 4motion Multivan is ?
Probably worth more if it was original 😁

Your show car is special Peter! Can't price that one :)

Have kicked myself a few times for not grabbing it when I had the chance.

Richard

Yes Richard it is special.

It has almost every conceivable factory extra, plus parts from the up market T3 Carat that never saw the light of day here.
I use it infrequently, mainly when going visiting friends or taking friends out.
Trips not less than an hour in both directions.
It is never parked in car parks and it’s kept locked up, and usually covered.
The soundproofing, one of the previous owners put it in,  make it more limousine like to ride in.
I picked up my daughter in law and grand son from the station recently,
and she could not believe that it was really a 4WD, she said that it was so smooth.

I bought it inspired by the $200,000 splities.
Figured that a really good, well equiped, T3 Synchro, only slightly used would be good for my estate when it was wound up.

It is not yet as valuable as my T3 B36 creation, but I think that it will catch up.

Peter

Hi Peter, your Syncro sounds great. Can you please put up a couple of photos.
Gerald
Hi Gerald,

Thanks for asking.

Here are a few, these were the vendor’s photos.
I’ve blanked out the previous rego number.

What you cannot see is such things as factory tinted glass,
electric: locking, windows and outside rear view mirrors,
and a very clean engine and chassis.

I don’t take her out in the rain, or off road.

She was originally ordered by Lindsay Fox’s family,
but they did not take delivery.
She was owned by a Swiss gentleman for a while,
then went through the hands of two collectors before I acquired her.

The file names of each of these photos will give you more information.

Peter

A "gentleman's" Syncro for sure, Peter.
Thanks for posting the great photos and info.
Gerald
Awesome syncro Peter - as I have said before.

I noticed you are missing the back seat kick panel.

This Werksberg bloke does a full set of ABS interior panels and says he has a rear seat kick panel coming very soon.

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1395379

I made my kick panel for my bay kombi from MDF sourced from Bunnings and just painted it with a roller with black acrylic paint.

Worked great and the roller adds a slight texture to make it look factory.

Would just finish that back area off nicely :-)

Cheers,

Skot
