Juergen the Camel driver made a short video of me tackling beach embankment.
How can I publish it to the Syncro group?
Cheers

Hi Theo,

You didnt Theo.
We all got the photo - but only via email (not on the website).
For the video - try posting it on U-tube then just post a link to it here.
We should all be able to work it out from there.
Cheers,
Skot

Skot,
Thanks for your advice.
My first attempt to post a video from our Tassie Trip.
Juergen, the chap with the Camel Syncro took it with his camera.
We did a bit of beach driving near Hells Gate Macquarie Harbour.
I am still on dial up connection (what's that I hear you ask) so it may not work.

Theo,
Having suffered dial-up twenty years ago, I used to think that nothing could possibly be worse. Wrong!! I am on a wireless modem which hangs off a grossly overloaded tower and it is worse than dial-up ever was. When I moved to this address, I asked Optus to connect cable here – I had been on Optus cable for probably fifteen years – and then learned the real truths of how collusion works. It turns out that Telstra ‘owns’ this address and, under the cosy little agreement that appears to exist between Optus and Telstra, Optus refused. Their cable supplies this street and runs past my front door but, no way, Telstra ‘owns’ this address!!!!!!

Theo,
I would be quite happy if the anti-collusion legislation worked but it doesn’t and that’s what I am stuck with – pathetic internet connection.

Phill,
No, unfortunately it’s not. I had a long correspondence with the ACCC about this after being given the run-around by Optus. Unfortunately, the bottom line is that any carrier can legitimately refuse supply for “commercial reasons”. So what it boils down to is this. Telstra has got cable installed here. The Optus cable runs past the front door. Installing cable would be a twenty minute job or less. Optus refuses to supply despite this fact. Therefore, collusion appears to be a completely acceptable ‘commercial reason’. I wish that it was a government action because I could then go and kick a few heads!!

I think that it's a government thing. It all changed with this stupid
NBN which we all pay for, but most of us will not get any benefit from.
We have had to pay millions to Telstra because the NBN is competing with them.

By wireless modem what hangs off a grossly overloaded tower which Optus has no plans to upgrade – I have an email from them saying that. It is quite acceptable in some other locations on different towers but hopeless where I am living.
