Tyres (the perrennial question)

Dear Syncrologists,
Does anybody have a recommendation with regards to tyres
for a Syncro?
TIA,
Ron in Brisnane
Ron,

As delivered in Australia, the Syncro came with 14 X 6 X ET30 wheels but a big variety of tyres, from full off-road to outright bitumen road tyres.

Several of us are running the B F Goodrich 27 X 8.5 AT and find them extremely good.  This tyre is one of the few in the world that has a bead protector on the sidewall where it fits the rim and this contributes to protecting the sidewalls from rim pinch failure.

You will probably get several replies within Australia and possibly a few from our overseas members.

As a by the way, I am originally from Beaudesert and lived in Brisbane (Herston) until work took me to Sydney.

Thanks Les,
I am interested in which tyres local people prefer.
The international people always come up with unavailable tyres that I've never heard of.
Thank you for your suggestion. Duly noted.
Ron

What size wheels do you have?

Larry Chase has written a lot on this;

Stock standard 14" I think.
I really just want to talk tyres available here in Oz.
I think Larry has the skinny on the USA situation.

Ron,

The size of the wheel is stamped on the inside, usually near the hub and will be stated successively as 14 (rim diameter in inches), 6 (rim width in inches), EJ 30 (positive offset of the centreline of the rim from the mounting face of the hub.

To the best of my knowledge, all Australian delivered Syncros were 14 6 EJ30.
