Joanne's going up to Nambucca next week to book the accommodation.

Don't let anyone ever tell you that all of the accommodation in the area has been booked out. We usually just turn up on the friday and have never had any trouble. If you want to stay at Valla Beach it may be booked out.

Are any of the Melbourne folk coming? This should be the "National Syncro Meet".

Hi Ben. Sorry to miss you on your visit to the Mid North Coast. We were in NZ.

Ann and I will be going to Valla for sure. Probably just for the weekend and stay overnight on Sat night. Last time we stayed in Nambucca and that worked well.

Will chat to Hart and see what his plans are.

Cheers, Peter from Port

Ha ha, very funny Ben. How did it perform on the beach sand???

I have just finished installing a second battery and control system. All I need now is to buy a decent fridge for the beer!!!!

Hi Peter, If you haven't already decided on a fridge, the Vitrifrigo is great. Greg E

Peter,

My 110Litre Weaco has been faultless - even bashing down the Plommer track the fridge and everything in it stays cold.vestment ever made.

Absolutely the best investment I have made for keeping things cold - my old 3 way fridge went to the scrappers.

Hi All,

Found another video with a South African very nice red syncro crawling
through some very slippery stuff in what appears to be South Africa -
but I don't speak the language so I am not sure.

But in syncro language - its great.

Another great find Skot. I thought it was a preview of the easier parts of our proposed Tasmanian tour but on reflection and looking at the place names it does look more like South Africa than downtown Devonport.
Cheers

Hi All,

As a New Member I am looking forward to meeting some fellow Syncronauts at Valla..

Will be staying at Coffs Harbour a bit out of the main action but only 30 or so min away. Turns out my wife wants to make a little Holiday out of it so must please her as well! LOL

Any Syncro specific events that we might like to join in over the 3 days?

We will be travelling from Grafton Fri morning..

Thanks in advance

Rowan : )
Get to the Valla Beach very early saturday morning (pre 8.00 am) to drive in convoy to Nambucca for the display until midday. Back at Valla saturday afternoon for swap meet and casual chat with other syncro owners.

Sunday display at Valla and just a walk around and chat day.

See you there,

Phill

Rowan. On Friday at 9am a group of us will be leaving Valla for Sealy Lookout at Bruxner Park Coffs Harbour. Meeting there at 10am for a cuppa and a look at the recently completed, and very impressive, sky bridge lookout. From there we will be going for a run along the nearby Rover Trail, a short but quite challangeing forest trail. Other members coming from the north have expressed an interest in meeting at the lookout at 10am. You are most welcome to join us.

To get to the lookout, turn west off highway 1km north of the Big Banana onto Bruxner Park Road. Follow this road up the mountain for 5kms. Turn left at sign to lookout and futher 2km.

Those who have expressed interest so far: Bill, Hart,Scott, Ben, Bruce, Peter, Philip, and I am sure a few others from the camp ground on the day.

If it rains, it's off, as the trail would be impassable.

This is not an official Valla event, just a group of us getting together for a run on public roads.

Bill.
I'm having a hard try at getting up to Valla next week. I'd like to leave MelbourneThursday morning but that seems to be cutting it fine if I want to meet you at Bruxner Park at 10am Friday. Would enjoy giving the Rover Trail a shot if the weather is cooperative. Presume I should arrive with adequate fuel to get back after the trail.
Is it still sufficient just to turn up and find a site which depending on popularity of the event will be closer or further away. I'm basically self sufficient to camp anywhere that's allowed. Could I perhaps get a mobile phone number to keep in communications as I head North particularly if the plug is pulled on the Rover trail. Presumably this will be a last minute decision according to conditions.
Sound like Theo will be screaming past me in his 2.4l if I can get away earlier. I hope I can get my act together to cause a 33% increase in the Melbourne contingent.
Look forward to meeting some old friends and some for the first time.
Cheers
Roger

Roger,

I should be up there on Thursday afternoon.

The accommodation is now limited with all powered sites and cabins gone but if you are lucky there may be some cancellations at the Valla Resort (just north of Nambucca). Otherwise there is the white albatros in Nambucca and another park also in Nambucca nearby. There must be something left.

We are in a small cabin @ Valla.

Your welcome to plug your charger in there to keep the beast all electrified.

My mobile is 0418 680 189 for updates as to what's happening.

My weather channel mobile phone app says Nambucca and further north will have great weather from here on - Sydney (not so great).

Looks like it will be a winner (touch wood).

Catch ya up there.

Cheers,

Skot

As my previous attempt was only partially successful I've taken Bruce's suggestion and downloaded my photos to the following photobucket site. I've somewhat taken the view that "too much is not enough" but I hope there is something for everyone in the collection. Some of the photos of Hart, Neil and myself on the Rover Trail were downloaded from the son of Jurgen who is  here more temporarily than his father.
Enjoy

PS Wish I was as computer savvy as you Rowan -that was a great contribution you posted.

Roger

Photobucket link not working.

Just make the photos smaller.

Attached is a sample.

It is only 99kb to start with.
It is 1024x768 pixels and compressed 50%.

Or here it is on photobucket.

Roger,

Thanks for the link but your photobucket account is "private" and you will need to make it "Public" for everyone to see it.

It was an excellent weekend (especially when I had the freedom of no spouse and children for the weekend). Just brilliant.

Lets do it again!.

Cheers,

Skot
