weathershields

I just noticed they sell Mk4 golf ones as well.

I will have to do some extra dealing I think.

I cant find anyone else that does them.

My point exactly, Skotty. The weathershields won't care if you install them on Syncro or 2WD. You'd get a larger order and possibly a better price if you let the 2WD fellows into the group purchase.

Doesn't seem practical to buy from T3 Technik because he buys from the UK guys. Buy direct. I'll bet he offers free Conti US shipping and not to OZ. just a hunch.

It's probably the same marketing strategy as OME shocks at work. I believe we can buy them for less in the US vs. OZ.

This chap was a complete ring-in.

He is from Mildura and has fitted a 3,3 litre SVX engine – a very competent installation.   He arrived at the same time as a string of Syncros and I didn’t notice that the sticker didn’t say 4WD and parked him with the Syncros.   He then proceeded to open a huge side awning that made a big hole in the space that we had available.

This won’t happen next year.   Ours is a T3 Syncro group and if people with 2WD T3s want to attend, they are going to have to make their own arrangements, with the exception of our group members whose Syncro is off the road for whatever reason and they bring their 2WD T3 instead.

Les,does it really matter if a 2wd T3 is to park with the Syncros.
They are all T3s.
I find it easier to look at the different cars if all the models are together.
Put all the late Kombis together. The more the better!

Ben,

It does when it takes nine months of attending DOTVW committee meetings, each of which is a 130km round trip for me, and laboured negotiations to get a display spot worthy of the vehicle as opposed to the very far end of the general parking area 50km away from the display area.

It has taken quite a long time to persuade the VW Club of Victoria that the T3 Syncro is a unique vehicle in its own right and I don’t want erode that by including any old T3.   Syncro_T3_Australia is an organized group; it was this group that conducted the protracted negotiations to get a good display area.   There was no input from any other non-Syncro T3 owners.

In the event, I got caught by the number of non-Syncro T3s that appeared.   I directed the non-Syncros to the far end of the allocated area and the Mildura bloke got into the middle of the Syncros before I realized that it wasn’t a Syncro.  We ran out of parking space and finished up with Syncros and finished up with several parked out of our designated area.

If you feel that it is easier to look at a variety, so be it.   And why stop at late model Kombi/Transporters?   We could lump everything in together, from ridiculously lowered Split Screens all the way up to T5s.   If that happened, I would then know for sure that the effort that I have put in over the last eight years was a waste of time.

Yeah yeah yeah.I dissagree.
People dont have to be a member of a particular forum,to get a spot in a car show.
Just turn up to these meetings, with good numbers of buses, drive in convoy or meet up early, and all go in together.
Then you will always be together.
Come in drips and drabs and fill the numbers.

Ben,

Any time that you want to try that down here, you’re welcome.   There is a fairly long history behind this!
