Wonderful Response

This group has been up for only four weeks and a few days, and we
already have 33 members. Well done, all of you!

I am still maintaining a register of Australian owners and their
vehicles. I want to keep this up to date and will shortly send out
an information sheet to the new members with the request that they
add thier vehicle details and send it back.

Hi Les   Our wonderful German visitors have left our shores…and now safely back in Germany, what a pleasure it was to meet them.    I, along with many others, will keep in contact with them, and look forward to their return one day.

I have a suggestion for the Aust Syncro Group…When posting a message and signing off…we could perhaps put the state from which you are in.  The reason I say this is…An example of a message received today regarding a member requesting an “air box” for his VW   If when he signed off…    Perth WA    .. for example, If I didn’t have one, I could at least suggest a few places he could try !   Just a thought.

 

Les , also I have some new members that would like to sign up  ,  whats the best way for them to make contact with you.

Ken,

This is a very sound suggestion re automatically adding the
geographic location to any message. One of the main reasons that I
set up the register, and then this group, was to establish a mutual
assistance network. As you say, if you know that a query originates
from Perth, you can immediately offer assistance.

The home addresses on the Register were what enabled me to establish
a chain of contacts for Joachim and Jasmin as they travelled around
Australia. I would hope to be able to do at least the same for any
future overseas visitors touring Australia.

In respect of people who would like to join this group, they can do
so direct, ie just join the group on the internet, or they can
contact me on leslieharris@optushome.com.au
