1980 dcab 2wd

Hello all again trying to make room.

Attached is a resto project I under took before getting married and having kids. Owes me over 40k and I'd like 25k firm.

It's a import from Ireland / was hellbugs old tow car/ before that I believe with the mullers.

I restored it with ppg paint then fitted a z30r , link ecu, new upholstry, rjes bell housing, quaif, Audi vented rotors all round and a custom 4 speed with albins 3/4 gears.

Dynoed 145 kW at the treads.

Lowered/ koni and whiteline sway bar.
Go westy bumpers.

Wow, is that right, 1980, so the very first (air cooled) T3?

Very nice

It has the 3 rows of air intake vents so it must be the air cooled version which limits it to 1982/3 at the latest.

The real early vans were easier to spot as their intake vents were not plastic but formed steel vents - the utes are much harder to differentiate from a side view.

I agree - very nice too and very rare in Oz.

Cheers,

Skot

I don't think I have ever seen an air cooled (single or dual cab) ute on Oz, so rare and desirable!

I have a couple of air cooled T3 vans though, nice and simple compared to the later ones!
