30 years gathering in Graz, Austria, in 2015

Dear All,

As not have been following the group messages for quite some time now, not sure if you have heard already that the Austrians are organising an international gathering in 2015 called '2015 - 30 years syncro'.

They are being in the process of getting a schedule together at the moment and everybody is invited to partake the (German *and* English) discussions at http://www.vwt3.co.at/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=10

The gathering will be held in Graz, Austria – the production site of our syncros.

Curios to hear if anyone will consider to come over.

Joachim

I may be interested if it is on around August or September which is close to Busfest (Sept 4-6) in the UK.

Hi Achim,
Very interested, would ship the TriStar in container and if anybody else is interested we could ship 2 in a 40 footer. The other option is going xc via Japan, China, Russia, Poland bit of a longish journey but doable.

The TriStar would be good for bringing the parts back, but we also need a Caravelle. The passengers could help subsidise the freight.
Great idea.

Will forward this to the organiser a.s.a.p.

Wow!

That has long been my wish to do – but the other way round and then stay in OZ forever :)

Would be good to get to know you and to meet Phill again. Anybody else joining in?

If I can be of any help (in case your syncros arrive by ship, with accommodation in Germany, if you need a lift, or with anything else), please let me know.

Dear All,

Originally, the gathering was intended to take place in Graz, Austria. As the Austrians were unfortunately unable to stem the event, the German IG16 (http://www.ig-syncro16.de/info/) has just decided to support the VW Bus Festival 2015 in Berlin (for this year's festival, please see http://www.vwbus-treffen-berlin.de/). Hence, we will have two events in one: The VW Bus Festival 2015 together with the 30 Years Syncro Gathering.

When: 14 August till 16 August 2015
Where: Flugplatzweg 6, 14913 Niedergörsdorf (go-kart and recreation centre Niedergörsdorf – http://www.xxl-location.de/)

More details as soon as possible.

Joachim,

Great to hear from you! Every member would probably like to attend either or both events.

Mark Kofahl is currently living in Germany for a few years and might be able to get to both and there represent our group.

Mark,

Joachim spent a year touring Australia and Brian Reed found him in Apollo Bay in early 2004. He met up with many of us in Melbourne . We conferred honorary Australian Syncronaut status on him and he has been a member since, so he is an original member – involved before the establishment of the web group.

I will be more than happy to assist with anything – bookings, transfers to/from the airport/railway station, accommodation, translation of information etc.

Feel free to contact me, everybody. Should anybody like to stay with us in Southern Germany for a couple of days before the event and travel to Berlin together then (around eight hours drive), be invited to be our guests. We currently have capacity for two people to stay and travel with us. This may change over the next coming weeks and maybe we will be able to accommodate more.

Mark Kofahl is currently living in Germany for a few years and might be able to get to both and there represent our group.

That would be fab. I will contact him direct (Mark, you can of course contact me anytime, too.)

This will be just a few weeks before Busfest (Vanfest) in England. A sort of two for the price of of one tour.

Joanne and I will be trying to attend.

Phill
This is very good news.

Looking forward to seeing you both again.

Hi punters,

Saw this bright banana yellow syncro on ebay yesterday with a low
starting bid:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/161342968551?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_979wt_925

Its a Trakka converted Multivan that needs some lovin.

The thing that interests me is the colour - I have only seen two others
of this colour - one with round headlights that lived down the NSW south
coast and a dual cab syncro plus a couple of DOKA 2wd's but syncros -
only 3 and I'm always looking!

I wonder how many original yellow syncros came to Oz?

Cheers,

Skot
I almost bid on that one a year ago but really isn't part of the wife's plan, it looked like it had been loved once, not sure now it is all pulled apart; made that mistake once before --------------------------------------------

I've spotted one yellow tracker van in nth NSW
spoke to a guy that had one advertised 10 yrs ago.
NSW one had the same seats but in leather with round headlights,
Also a twin cab advertised locally as well there is the yellow one in the tracker bronco brochure.
So that's 4 orig yellows I've come across around SEQ not counting the brochure.

This van looks not so bad, compared to the older pre 80 vans being rebuilt its sweeeet

Its a Trakka converted Multivan that needs some lovin.

The thing that interests me is the colour - I have only seen
two others

of this colour - one with round headlights that lived down
the NSW south

coast and a dual cab syncro plus a couple of DOKA 2wd's
but syncros -

only 3 and I'm always looking!

I wonder how many original yellow syncros came to Oz?
