89 Syncro

Hi folks,

I spotted a basic syncro for sale on my travels through Fremantle
this morning. Just done a round Oz trip. Has a water tank, bed, not
much else I could see.
700000 kms ! $4900

Anyone in WA wants a cheap bus ?

This sounds remarkably like Andrew and Melissa's Syncro!
 
If it is, it has a 2.5 Subaru and has seen more of Australia than most Australians.

I’d be surprised if it was Andy & Melissa’s (plus it’s not the phone number I have for him). I don’t think he’d let his go for that price. But 700,000Km must be some sort of record.

 

But talking about cheap Syncros, what do you do if you’re supposed to lead the Bateman’s Bay tour and your van is off the road? Why, you buy another one of course. This is what Peter bought on the morning of the tour.

I didn't check the mobile phone number but the 700,000 km did stick out, which is why I put the question mark behind it.  I hope we get an anguished howl from Andrew or Melissa saying "It's NOT ours!"

Hi there,

This seems to be the Syncro you spotted. Looks like it might have done Australia proud by taking the odd backpacker to the Outback, and back again, in style.

Hi Group

IT'S NOT US

We are currently wetting our feet in Shark Bay (as you do) before the
last leg of our journey.
And on our return you will not see a for sale sign on our little Ossy
as we park it up for a well earned rest!!

The last time we saw the syncro in question it belonged to a French
backpacker couple that we worked with in Gayndah QLD. They had
purchased the syncro in the Gold Coast area before heading north and
then west. Obviously they have sold it on.
