92’ 2.1 motor rebuild

Hi Gaetan
I’d be leaning towards replacing the head studs. I recently had a full engine rebuild and didn’t change the head studs. They looked perfect, no corrosion and the mechanic swayed me to leave them be. 1200km later one snapped as I started up the engine in the driveway. So back to the mechanic to replace them all. Lesson learned for me.

Cheers
Paul

Hi all, just re-reading this post on the engine. Some good reminders for me when I get to doing my engine. There is a note from Peter “If you can find someone to gas flow the inlet and exhaust ports, have found it to be worthwhile.
Peter, I am interested to know the purpose of this? I assume this is for someone to open out the ports for better flow?
Standard heads in a T3 have a much better flow path than a stock T2 engine.
Thanks
Richard
