All-Member Alert

If you suddenly stop getting emails on this or other Yahoo websites,
the probable reason seems to be a fault in the Yahoo groups
software. There is a function in the software that monitors outgoing
emails from the Yahoo server. If this function determines that the
recipient's server is refusing a message, the recipient's email
address is tagged as "bouncing" and you simply don't get any more
email from any Yahoo server.

This has happened to me several times since I began the
Syncro_T3_Australia group BUT, on every occasion, all other email
gets through, including truckloads of spam. I verified this by
getting friends and colleagues to send email, all of which gets
through, while the Yahoo sites still tell me that my address
is "bouncing". In other words, the problem originates from the
Yahoo server, not within my server. Whenever this happens, you have
to reactivate your email address through the Yahoo server. When you
open the website, you will see a notice towards the top to the
effect that your email address is "bouncing".

It happened to me again twice in the last week, once at the end of
last week and again at the start of this week, which prompted me to
look at the membership list. A very worrying number of members have
been tagged "bouncing", some from several years back, which means
that they aren't getting any messages from the Syncro_T3_Australia
group, at the very least.

This Yahoo server function excluded Phill Lander this morning, so I
am sending this out as a general warning to all members. Remember
the above in case you stop getting group emails. Email me direct if
you are still cut out.

Ken,

It does most of the time but this is something that just comes out of the blue.  I got knocked of the list AGAIN tonight and I OWN the frigging website !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And Phill Lander got knocked off this morning !!

The purpose of the post was to tell the members that it can happen.  Several years ago, it happened to another list member, who then rang me and abused me for taking him off the list.  I had words with Yahoo about it and it didn't happen again until last week.  Now it has happened four times in one week.
