An introduction

G'day all,
I've just been approved into the group, thanks for having me.
I'm Alex. I'm new to the syncro fan base but have always been an avid van fan and adventure enthusiast.
I actually don't have a syncro, yet. But I'm certainly keeping my eyes glued to several sites/pages looking for 'the right one'. I've had another t3 owner stop me from jumping in too quickly with a couple of purchases. Thankfully, hes made me realise that it takes time, but eventually the right one will find you instead.
So in the mean time I'll have to continue admiring other owners syncro's.
If anyone knows of or is themselves, selling a beloved syncro please contact me :)

Cheers, Alex
Welcome to tne club Alex.
The "right" Syncro will come along.
Where are you based?
Gerald
Thanks Gerald.

I'm in Melbourne, Victoria.

Hi Alex.
If you come across a Syncro, give a shout out on the forum......there's a few of us in the Melbourne suburbs who could come and have a look with you if you want.
Gerald.
Hi Alex,

Great to have a couple of new members and thanks for introducing yourself.

As per your previous advice - do be careful with your purchase but also know the good ones disappear quite quickly and remember also they are now near or at 30 years old (I know my syncro is - so I'm going for historic rego as its a toy not a daily drive), so you are unlikely to get a no problem vehicle.

Best of luck with your search and plenty of local syncro owners to help in Melbourne area.

Cheers,
Scott

Thanks Gerald, I'll definitely keep that offer close. It seems there is always people within the syncro community willing to help out. Great community.
Hi Scott,

Yeah i can see the concern when owning an older van (cost, time, patients, etc. 😅).

When i get it, it will remain a well kept toy for the occasional adventure. I'm fortunate enough to have a full time work car as my daily.

Thanks, I've already come across so many friendly syncro owners.

Alex
Alex,

Being in Victoria you get historic rego from 25 years of age.

I have seen a few syncros with it.

Worth while for a seldom used vehicle.

Cheers,

Scott

Hi there from the sunshine coast,
Your syncro sounds very interesting, I see similarities between mine and yours.
I'm still building mine. Almost finished.
Interesting you should install a Peloquin diff in the front axle. And with a solid shaft.
So this indicates you would only use the front diff on dirt?
I've fitted a Peloquin diff in the rear transaxle with a locking mechanism.
Love the difference it has made (Peloquin)
I've still got the VC in the front diff.(open)
Your list of extras is very impressive, and I would have to say your asking price is too cheap, way too cheap.
All the best
Regards
Peter Bellamy
