Basically the wipers do their 5 wipes (when lever is pulled towards driver) only when the pump is disconnected. Connect the pump and nothing happens... no pump, no wipes! The pump works when 12v is put through it. The wiper switch must be working if the wipers operate, but the moment that pump is connected, all is dead. I'm contemplating simply adding a button on the dash for the water wash pump, but would rather not give up yet! Anyone ever had this problem before?
Thanks
I did : Took water reservoir out, needed a clean badly, checked the pump, ok, put it all back.... no success,
Checked the relevant fuse and replaced the relais with another one, .............................. no success
Took off steering wheel, took off 3 multi connectors, took out 3 srews and removed the stalk / switch assy. Crikey was that thing filthy !!
Soaked the complete thing with contact spray, let soak 30 mins, used low pressure air to clean most oil and dirt, checked the plastic housing which
hides the lot, found a 40mm long crack , fixed it with epoxy, let cure in the sun, and put it all back together.
turned the key and would you believe... all worx perfecto

If you disconnect the pump and put a multimeter on the feed connections when you pull the levers is power there? The switch for the pump feed (ie on the switch stalk) could be the culprit. Can you see the relay operating with and without the pump connected?Good luckGary Cookson
