Nice find there Ben.

Love Rogers swift gather of his swim and back onto the causeway.

Me neither.I thought it was a shallow crossing.Like the photo on the home page.I am keen for that, will have to get down there and check it out.
Boys and Girls,is there any more video of that great tour?
What about the race cam Roger.Would love to see it.Please censor the audio,as I have sensitive ears.
Did any of the japanese 4bees cross on that day,did you talk to any of those guys across the other side when you crossed?I bet they were surprised.
Is this a bi-annual thing??

Hi Ben & Skot,

I thought I'd posted those videos on here before, so apologies if I hadn't. Mark and/or Rick were going to collate every-ones pics after the event, but I'm not sure of progress (I know Mark has been O/S in the interim, so that has probably slowed things down).

The Shallow Crossing event (capably organised by Rick & Peter K, thank you), has been bi-annual, and probably will continue in 2013. There was some talk of organising something else in the off year, but who knows.

Shallow Crossing is at the end of the tidal reaches of the Clyde River, so varies considerably in depth, from about 10cm (and presumably dry in a dry year, to 50+cm this year at high tide, and I guess deeper. Well, actually I know it can be deeper, because the camp ground built its amenities above the flood level, and they are probably 20 metres higher. Always best to try and cross on the outgoing flow to minimise the chances of salt water.

The Asian 4x4's (one was Chinese) did come across after we showed them how. They'd been waiting a while when we turned up opposite. Bow waves were up to their bonnets.

I think Roger is also O/S at the moment, so I'm not sure if he'll be able to respond about his footage.

Brian R.

Hi Ben

I took several videos on the Shallow Xing trip. I sent a copy to Rick to pass on to Mark but don't know wether they got them. I also posted them on Utube which is about the limit of my computer speak.
Do a search on  'utube 2gadams'  and you will find a dozen or more short videos of what went on in the murky depths of Shallow Xrossing that week.

Cheers Graham
