Batemans Bay

Hi,
This may have been mentioned before but I have limited email access
while travelling, and was wondering what the proposed time and place
for the rendezvous at Batemans Bay was. We will try and call past on
Saturday 15th. It would be a pity to miss the opportunity of meeting
some of you guys when we are close by. Regards, Francesca.
Francesca

I believe the meeting time is 12.00pm Sat for departure at 3.00pm for Shallow Crossing. Not quite sure of the place as yet but Brian Reed who is here in Mallacoota in his T5 will know and I'll pass on the info. Brian and myself will be there maybe a little later about 1 to 2 ish as I have to stop and pick up some parts from a wreckers yard on the way thru. Would be good to catch up with you too.

Hi Francesca,

For full details see Rick’s post #11437.

Meeting place; Bowling Club car park just south of bridge (on right. That’s assuming you’re travelling south).

Meeting time at Bateman’s is between 12 and 3pm.

If you’re later you’ll find us at Shallow Crossing after about 4. If you have a reasonably detailed map (that actually shows Shallow Crossing) it’s not that hard to find, and worth the trip. It’s a really nice camp site, with a good swimming spot. Travelling south, the turn off (right) is a little past the East Lynne store/servo about 10-15Km before Bateman’s. Old Princes Highway, then onto Barkshed Rd if I remember. About 10-15Km of good dirt road. Rick may be able to give you more detail if you think that’s the way you’ll come.

Hope you make it there,

Brian R.

Looking highly unlikely that I will be going to Batemans Bay.
With all this flooding and heaps of roads cut and still plenty of
rain around I think I will be staying home, unfortunately.

Very sad because I really enjoy Batemans and was looking forward to
it again this year.

Bruce
Bruce,

Sorry to hear it. Heh it's only 2 years to the next BB Tour! Probably be even wetter in Rocky by then.

Amongst other things, I was looking forward to learning (and eyeballing) whether or not you have by now properly attended to your second set of keys project!!

On that, Hartmut was a quick learner. What say you Hartmut?

Cheers.

Ken

Hi Bruce,
I thought this may be the case, sorry you can't make it and you will be missed after all who is going to make the movie for us this time.
Hope all gets better soon.
best regards
Rick.

Yes it's a bad time of the year to be wanting to go anywhere up in
this part of the world, but we have had so much drought over the past
years that we had all forgotten that it is actually supposed to rain
and flood at this time of the year!!!! After all we do live at the
ocean outlet of the second biggest river system in the country. Now
the SE corner is copping it and I guess northern NSW will as well.

Second set of keys project!!! Do you have to remind everyone I locked
the keys in the van in Valla Ken? I'm not telling anyone what I've
done. Agree with Hart.....

I'll be thinking of you all have fun at Batemans and lamenting I
won't be munching those cherries I get at Wellington on the
way........there would have been no mangoes to bring with me this
time so probably just as well I can't go!!

Next time?

Bruce

Hart has the right idea with the hippy syncro. If you lock your keys in the car you just climb through the window.
