Bellingen Dorrigo

There was a big turnout in Bellingen recently with a few Synchros. I took my T6.1

There was a convoy to Dorrigo, possibly 100 vehicles.

It was well organised and sponsored by KombiLife. Even firewood!!

Yes, a great turnout.
Plenty of camping space at the showground, too.
Foodtrucks, ablution blocks, easy walk to the beautiful, historic Bellingen…and the weather held out.
The best part was the Show n Shine, where the steeds were arranged in a circular fashion on the vast oval sportsground.
Great organization by the hosts…Justin and Amanda (were their names, I think).
Lock it in for 2028.

Great to hear! Pity I missed this one, Sounds like a great event. Hopefully it becomes a good replacement for Valla.

An awesome event - loved the grassy campsites with a fire going at night (it was cold!). The location so close to the main town was awesome.

Most of the usual suspects were there too.

The selection of VW’s was great and the food truck sold excellent food.

Dorrigo cruise was great. The little museum with the crazy motor bikes all custom made was excellent, plus the train museum (thats not quite open yet but we chatted to the Owner for some great info).

My dog Maxi enjoyed it so much (with all the varieties of other dogs and food) that he ended up with the runs after a couple of days.

Great fun - i will definitely do that again!

That is a lot of T3 Syncro’s , real pitty I missed it. And a lot of QLDer Syncro’s!

Which waterfall was that Scott?

That’s Dangar Falls, only about 2km east of Dorrigo. Just follow the main Street.

I was born there and regularly swam in the pool at the top. There’s now a graded walking track to the base of the falls.

Not to be confused with the other Dangar Falls near Armidale.

As Phillip says - Dangar Falls.

They have made a really nice viewing platform too.

I bet that water is a bit chilly for swimming - especially in Winter!

Nice. I stayed a bit north of there last year on a trip out that way.

I’ve been looking at places to break up the drive to and from Old bar (from Brisbane). I’m looking to take a bit more time and have a few stop overs.

The Ranges from Brissy down are full of great spots.

We are spoilt for choice!

By the way, they have confirmed the next Waterfall Way VW Event at Bellingen in 2028 mid July.

Should be another great event!
