Merry Christmans and a good very good and happy new Year.
My year ended with a bang! My engine is kaputt. One of the bearings didn't get oil. Now I am looking for a short engine. Has anyone got one or knows where to start looking?
Harry
Harry,
Sorry to hear about that. Not a good way to end the year.
The closest to you are in Melbourne and both places carry a very good range of new and used parts.
Volkwerke, Greensborough, speak to Lloyd Davies, 039435 1868
Volkspower, Burwood, speak to Dean Coutts, 03 9808 6777
Tell them that you were referred by Les Harris of the Syncro_T3_Australia group.
Since the 2WD and the 4WD T3 has the same engine (MV), you might be able to find something in Tasmania but they would never carry anything like the range of the Victorian and NSW paces.
Les

Blown Engine

Hi Harry,
Sorry to hear about your plight.I have a complete Motor from a wreck which was apparently working when pulled out earlier this year.It is a 2.1 MV.My intention is to do it up as a spare and i've got new heads and studs and gasket set to complete the reco.I would not want to take the chance of selling it as is because i am unsure of it's condition.I was told it worked when it was taken out and that there were no leaks.
I know of an engine that is avail out of the caravelle i sold recently to a couple in Sth Aust. They changed it over as it had very low compression on No 4 cylinder. It was from an automatic. If interested in contacting them then let me know.
Cheers,
Everard

Hi Harry,
The owner of the engine is Ainsley Roscrow who replaced it with an engine from her previous caravelle that was involved in an accident. She told me that the Compression readings were all different and that the reading on the No 4 cylinder was the worst. As far as i know the bottom half is okay.I had the vehicle for 6 years and did not have any issues with it.I was told by the owner prior to me that the motor was done up at around 220000 kms.It now has approx 265000 on it.
Email Ainsley on roscrowkreis@esc.net.au and see if she will sell you the motor.I will send her an email as well letting her know that you will be contacting her.
Cheers for now,
Everard
