Buying help

Hi all,

So the time for me to inspect a syncro is quickly approaching. Ill be travelling to Gosford area in NSW on Saturday the 6th.
I haven't owned to many cars in my life and most of them have been newer models, so I'd like to be as best prepared as possible for the inspection.

I was going to just follow this pretty in-depth checklist on the kombi club forum
https://forums.kombiclub.com/threads/check-list-when-buying-print-take-it-with-you.1292/
What do you think, is there anything i should pay close attention to?
I'm aware of the added caution of rust around arches and seams.

Also if anyone is in the area and wants to tag along for added advice, I'd be glad to pay for fuel or drinks in exchange for some expertise on site.
Thanks
Alex
Alex,

What day and rough time are you planning on coming to Gosford?

Might be able to help you out.

Cheers,

Scott

Hi All
Sorry if this is already posted but I saw this syncro on gumtree.
Looks like a good project vehicle.
May be of interest to you Alex.
Can't be many window syncro's with rear difflocks in Oz.

I know the owner. He is honest and has been a T3 fan for many years. He put a VW 2 litre Golf motor in my 89 Syncro in 2003 after my stock engine blew up near Innamincka in northern SA. Engine still going strong.

Good luck

G'day Scott,

I'll be landing in Sydney on Saturday the 6th, flight time says ill land at 7am so probably 7:30am. I expect to catch a train from the airport, anytime beetween 7:30-8 and arrive in Gosford before 9:30-10am.

The landing time and date is locked in but, everything else is pretty flexible.
I think i have your mobile number, ill shoot you a message.

Cheers,
Alex
Thanks Paul,

I considered it early in the hunt for a syncro, but quickly realised I would have the time for such a large project with a fresh newborn 😶
Thanks for the thought 👍
No worries Alex.

See you then.

Cheers,

Scott
