CB Radios What R U Using?

BTW Jon. That GME kit I bought has an extension cord for the handset. Will add a photo. Cheers.

GME Installed. Put it in drivers side as too tight on the left side of steering column. Tested with a neighbour and all good.

Looks great Peter.

The only concern I would have is getting you foot caught in the cord.

I had to route mine over the steering column to ensure I didnt get tangled up.

I did consider that Scott. So far its OK but I can reroute the cord if I have to. The kit came with an extension cord for the handset and another connector that can be fixed somewhere. Yet to test on the open road with all the associated wind and engine noise. You can also get an extension speaker which is about $50. Easy to plug in and install somewhere closer to ones ears!!

Nice Peter.

How was the trip to South Oz - I think that’s where you went?

Cheers,

Scott

Thanks @gregespo73. Some good deals around at the minute. Think I will probably go for the Uniden rather than the Rolls Royce (GME).

I have 2 GME Handheld units which are 3W
They will do me just fine for the amount of use
They will get. Plus have other applications outside the van such as MTB or Snowboarding and spotting off-road. Still have not used them much. Had them for a while now. The only concern is the batteries will lose their effective life over time but they are a quality unit and work well. . There is a huge difference between cheap handhelds and good ones.

Hi Scott. Late reply. We went out west to the Warrumbungles and Mt Coolah. Very nice trip with a bit of rough road work. In 4wd at times. But my CV is a bit passive so didn’t get too excited.
Cheers, Peter

Could you throw up a few syncro photos to keep us bored syncro Owners keen

Thanks,

Scott
