Clutch Shudder first gear

Hi All,
Some advice please on this problem. When I attempt to release clutch from first after a stop I get some pretty bad shuddering (it is an intermittant problem). If i reengage the clutch, add more revs and find the sweet spot I can then accelerate without the shudder. Only happens in first gear.
Thanks
Nick

Do you have any rear main seal oil leak type of issue?

Hi Scott not that I can see. There is no fresh oil patch after the parking/stopping.

Do you have a good clutch pedal feel? Could there be air in the line? This can cause shuddering in some vehicles, though I’m not sure if ours suffer from it.

It can be a warped flywheel or a dodgy clutch too causing that issue.

Worth taking the gearbox out and checking everything.

Certainly, worth bleeding the clutch with new fluid and check the master or slave cylinder are not leaking
It’s also worth checking your engine and gear box mounts are all in good condition.
Their simple checks just in case.
As Scott said could be bigger issues with the flywheel or clutch plate, but that is engine/GB out to investigate.

On the slave cylinder is a cup/ball that actuates the clutch, it’s worth checking that is not corroded and has fresh grease. Anotehr easy check.

thanks all for your advice - will update shortly
