coolant
Hi guys,
I know there was some discussion about coolant just recently, but I was a bit too preoccupied to take it in. Rather than trawl back through the posts, could anyone précis the outcome (if such a thing as a consensus was eventually reached)? We've used all our G11 up and thought we should have something in reserve, just in case.
Nice to see the pictures of the DOTVW and hear all about it from three excited boys.
Thanks,
Francesca.

Thought its about time to chime in......have been only using G12++ for quite a number years on all customer T3’s and must say there IS NO REASON to stick with G11....having seen the internal condition of mv engines running G12++ it is SO MUCH CLEANER.......G12++ from my experience is fine and I will continue to use it,

>>But is suitable for Subaru conversions?...Probably..
I am now using a green coolant suited for all models, and especially Subaru-powered VWs.
I rekon if you have G11,stay with it.If you have G12 stay with it.If you have G12+++,your lucky.
They will all stop your car freezing, boiling and corroding.
Just dont mix em.
I would recomend if changing, to completly drain system, filling with water, driving, then draining again.Maybe twice.
The only thing I have against G12++,is it looks like weak cordial.
I always used G11 whilst, I had both WBXs.
There has been one important note that has been overlooked.Always use de-mineralized water, with WBX engines.Hard water will cause corrosion.Never use bore water!
Sydney water is quite soft now,0-20pp Kh,0-54ppm Gh,but still enough to cause head stud corrossion. In times of drought our water is much harder.
Thats why I always liked the coolants that looked like concentrates.
