CV joints in Australia

Hamish,

Ah...Bribie Island...used to holiday there when I was a kid and it was all beach shacks....also broke my foot big-time on Bribie and spent 6 months on crutches....

Back to the matter in hand.

Postage of anything within Australia is always a lot less painful than from anywhere overseas.

Ring Volkspower for a start, 03 90808 6777, speak to Dean and see if they have any in stock.  There will be other suppliers in other states, of course.

Start your day with Yahoo!7 and win a Sony Bravia TV. Enter now.
Have you tried www.eurocarparts.com

A quick search on the site brings up part number 657443621 for £40.50 (Approx AUD$90)

British site but relatively small parts so post should be reasonable.

brickwerks.co.uk also has just the rubber boot kit for £7.94. This is for rear or front inner but not front outer.

www.vanagain.com also have them with pics which may help. I've emailed them before and they are helpful and ship to Aus.

As Ben says, there are several makers on the market and opinion around the world does suggest that there are several levels of quality.  If parts from overseas prove to be defective, getting replacement under warranty can get very complicated and not a little expensive.

My only experience is having most of mine replaced by Volkspower with the GKN/Spicer joints.  They are made in their LOBRO factory in Spain, if I have my facts straight. (The LOBRO logo is on the GKN box.)  These have proved to be satisfactory.

Hi there all !!  If all these parts are so cheap and easy to get ie grill, cv joints etc and especially sending a grill from overseas why is it you guys just keep talking about it , this forum must just either the poorest people in Australia on it or just the most bored people!!!! Every topic that is brought up just turns into meaningless nonsense that goes on and on

Have you tried www.eurocarparts. com

A quick search on the site brings up part number 657443621 for £40.50 (Approx AUD$90)

British site but relatively small parts so post should be reasonable.

brickwerks.co. uk also has just the rubber boot kit for £7.94. This is for rear or front inner but not front outer.

www.vanagain. com also have them with pics which may help. I've emailed them before and they are helpful and ship to Aus.

Cheers

Looks like internationally (go westy is the go) at $270 AUD + shipping  considering that covers:
  • inner lobro cv
  • inner boot
  • drive shaft
  • outer lobro CV
  • outer Boot
  • Outer clamps
It pays to shop arround - dosent it.

Hamish,

Ah...Bribie Island...used to holiday there when I was a kid and it was all beach shacks.....also broke my foot big-time on Bribie and spent 6 months on crutches....

Back to the matter in hand.

Postage of anything within Australia is always a lot less painful than from anywhere overseas.

Ring Volkspower for a start, 03 90808 6777, speak to Dean and see if they have any in stock.  There will be other suppliers in other states, of course.

Stop right there.

You are a recent member and you appear to be a dealer in Syncro parts.  Whether full time or part time does not come into it.

Syncro_T3_Australia is a mutual assistance group and sourcing parts is becoming more essential each year to keep our Syncros on the road.  For this reason, I am more than happy to have information about the availability and price of parts posted to our forum.

I will NOT tolerate the tone of your last post.  Being a dealer in essential parts does not give you the right insult the membership generally.  If you have a dispute with a particular person, you are free to take it up with them off-list.

You only get one warning on this list and you are getting yours now - pull your head in and be civil.  If there is another instance like this, you will be wiped off the list permanently, supplier of valuable parts or no.

Start your day with Yahoo!7 and win a Sony Bravia TV. Enter now.
erm ...... couldn't possibly do that now Black ... now your here in our
midst.

Apparently I'm one of your so called bored types who is now waiting with
baited breath for you to contribute here something useful, meaningful,
exciting about Syncros. The sort of thing you said you find lacking here
and your basic criticism of this forum. So come on Black, show us what
you've got we can all get excited about, otherwise your criticisms have
a stark hollow useless ring eh.

We're waiting Black ... please don't disappoint us ok.

Mr Black Wood, you are now removed from this website.

It has been explained to you what this website is all about and peevish little snipes is NOT what it is about.

Why dont you leave ???

Ken,

I can understand why you had a shot at this person - it was deserved - but I would prefer us to act like gentlemen even when the occasional person, like this ex-member,  doesn't.

Your contributions to this website are much appreciated.  You put a huge amount of energy and time into the information that you research and disseminate to the rest of us.  That represents a standard to which others can aspire (don't think they could ever catch up to you though!) and that's the way I would like it to stay.

The big names in the Syncro world are all members of Syncro_T3_Australia and I would like to think that their impression of us is set by the sort of contributions that you regularly make.

Les
