Venue: Yarra Valley Racecourse - Armstrong Grove Yarra Glen Melway 275 C1

Show and Shine, Traders and VW swap meet Berwick Volkswagen will display a range of new Volkswagens.

Kids free entertainment - face painting, plaster moulds and Scalextric racing Music provided by the Total Fire Band.

Eltham Lions Club will provide the food with coffee from Espresso Mobile Café and ice creams from Mr Whippy

Gates open to the public at 9.00am, swap site setup entry from 8.00am Entry costs:

Pre-registration opens 22 October and closes 9 November with entry prices for car parking, car judging and two adults from $20.

Entry on the day for car parking, car judging and two adults $30.

Walk in entry $10 per adult, children under 12 free.

Swap sites $50.

Judging between 9.00am to 11.00am enter through the judging gate.

I have not posted on this until there is some clarity about the arrangements for this year. Re-grassing by the racecourse is probably going to change the proposed arrangements. The last committee meeting, at which the plans will be finalized, will be on 30 October, after which I will post regarding the outcome.

Whilst we finished up with a good display area last year, this came only after negotiation, in which there was some evidence of grudging agreement. There were also some incidents last year that left a very poor taste in my mouth. Yes, these things tend to happen in clubs and are usually the result of individuals who have established fiefdoms. The protection of these little kingdoms is usually to the detriment of the club itself but the club itself is of a lesser priority to such individuals. But, as of the last meeting, there is a largely new committee and I think that there might be an improvement on some of the distasteful aspects of last year. I have not aired any of this to our group because it is a VW Club of Victoria matter.

Not sure yet and it will further depend on what the Yarra Glen racecourse committee will allow the club to use. There was talk of just lumping all T2s and T3s in together, perhaps even T4s and T5s as well. Last year, we managed to get a T3 area and it was up t e to get the Syncros parked together. My personal view is that if we can’t be together, it is barely worth going at all. We won’t know until the last committee meeting.

Hi Eddie, Yes the engine is in one piece. Still painting and rebuilding ancillaries. Alice has started her masters and got a temporary promotion at work so progress is even more slow than before! You could build a couple of houses in the time it has taken me to do this! See ya at the dotvw?
