Day of the Volkswagen, 8 November 2011

Les

Thanks for your efforts again in organsing the dedicated Syncro parking area. As I recall the topography, the area depicted by the orange rectangle is indeed on a slope, which should make for a great display.

I indicated back on August 11 that Max and I would be attending. This is has now changed, and in fact Deborah, Alexandra, Max and I will be attending, and very much looking forward to it; the event certainly, and the camaraderie definitely.

Please add our names to your list.

Regards
Mark.

At last night’s Day of the Volkswagen organizing committee meeting, the T3 Syncro group was allocated a different and much better location for the Day of the Volkswagen.

The previous allocation was at the very far end of a very long and narrow parking area and I took this up with the head of the organizing committee. It transpires that it was the same area that was allocated for the 2010 event, which puzzled me even further until I learned that the 2010 allocation was based on the possibility that someone might camp on site over night. The 2010 arrangement was carried forward for 2011.

In the event, flooding just prior to the 2010 event threw all parking allocation into chaos and we had to make our own arrangements; it was Roger who found the spot that we eventually used.

Last night’s reallocation puts us in a very good place and at the opposite end of the whole area to where we were; on the attached map, we have the orange rectangle for the T3 Syncros.

Entry: enter at the second gate and follow the red arrow path until you are inside the racecourse grounds, then follow the blue arrow path all the way around to the top end of the display area.

Attendance: attendance is so far very thin and a lot less than previous years –

Anthony Balint + boys (Francesca studying)

Greg Esposito

Les Harris

Phill & Joanne Lander (bringing Roger’s second Syncro)

Roger Bell

Theo Weiss

Prompt indication of intention to attend would be much appreciated.

Les

Bugger, i would loooove to come, but from NT it's a little far for a weekend.

Just had holidays, i can't leave the bushstore alone.

I wish everybody a great time there!

Enjoy it. Maybe next year.

Cheers

Seb from Alice
Greg,

I would say that would work just as well.

But that is without seeing it.

Cheers,

Skot

Yeh, I will be able to make it work. I will grab one next time we visit the sister inlaw in campsie. Is one of those stores close? Greg E

Greg - just a thought - maybe put it on the seats themselves.... Scott is right, it is OK without the armrests, and you and trim it to fit as Scott and I have done and see if you are happy, however, if not, maybe trim is slightly more, and it will fit between the doors and the legs will rest on the seats... (although I haven't measured clearance under the steering wheel)

Ahhh, you fancy syncro owners with your armrest. I might have to go with Les's idea, lest have a small child fall in the sink at two in the morning. Greg E

Hi Greg

well, not really - but have managed to get some support through the armrests... legs aren't long enough....

Hi Mark, Is it supported by the legs on the seats as well as the door frame? Looks like a great solution for those like I who don't want holes in pillars for brackets. Greg E

Mark,

How did you go with the front cab bunk?

Dont forget to make the curtain between the front and back of the syncro to get the little ones their own little bedroom.
