Day of the Volkswagen, Victoria, 16 Nov

The Day of the Volkswagen is coming up on 16 November at Cranbourne Racecourse.
 
We are putting on a display, organized by Brian Reed, in a dedicated area.  We will be displaying our Syncros and pictures of the Syncro in the sort of terrain that the Syncro was designed for.  The Kombis to the Kape tour will provide some very good illustrative pics.
 
Everyone who attends will get a personal name tag (see attached pic) and I will probably do a vehicle tag as well.
 
Please let us know if you are coming so that Brian can devise a layout to suit and I can print nametags.

That’s 9 vans now, including my own T5. Keep those acceptances rolling in. There is a (? final) VWCV committee meeting next Tuesday, and I may be lobbying for space. The more certainty I have about numbers the better.

 

I’d love to convoy, but I’m planning to be there early (around 8) to set up.

Yes I agree, although I notice on the VW Watercooled site there looks like quite a crowd of Sydney Golf etc drivers coming. I’d noticed the spelling on the hard copy form, but what can you do when it’s already printed. I’ll raise it regarding potential trophies though.

 

I expect to have power available for the projector (will confirm at the committee meeting tomorrow night). However some people have suggested that this may not work well in daylight conditions, so I’ll also have a lap-top, (as will Les), and my small DVD/TV from the van.

I’ll also bring my monitor (24”) which I can piggyback to the laptop. Any extra screens would be welcome however, as if we don’t have the large display (projector) I figure multiple small ones would work OK. I have several Photo CD’s and the 2 SA Saamtrek DVD’s (thanks Phill). As well as Heidi’s DVD, but extra material wouldn’t go astray. What I’m short of at the moment is tables or (better yet) higher stands to put things on.

Where've you been Mark?

Pretty obvious this category is for the fully imported models
maunufactured in Tijuana Mexico.

The DOTV organisers have simply left our Aussie syncros out altogether,
that's all.
