Brian Reed is organizing a Syncro site for the next Day of the Volkswagen Victoria, held at Cranbourne Racecourse on Sunday 16 November.
We will be mounting an off-road display with printed pics (A3 size) and displays on laptops.
All we need now is to get as many owners as possible to attend. Please let me know as soon as possible
Thanks

Hi Les,
We’ll actually be next to ‘centre stage’ right by the main pavilion. This is where the regular kombis (not Syncros) were last year, as kombis were the ‘featured vehicles’ last year. (Mind you, allocations aren’t finalized yet, but that was what I discussed with Dean). There were probably 40 kombis in that area last year, so we won’t fill it, and will have to share, but hopefully it will be less crowded than last year. The earlier we get confirmation of attendances the better bargaining position I will be in for space. The area is to the LEFT just as you come in the main gate, and every-one will walk through it to get to the main undercover display/ presentation area. Importantly, power will be available for our displays, but it is a bitumen surface, so may make putting up tents difficult. I guess it would be more stable for ramps and things if we can organize any more dramatic ‘positioning’ of vehicles.

Campbell,
It wasn't your fault. A spot for the Syncros was arranged on the day and on the spot - there was no pre-arrangement, even thought I tried before the event.
From what Brian says, we will be in the same spot as last year, which is to the right of the entry gate on a slight rise. Brian can confirm that.

Dear Les, I have been offered some work in China which would have me over there for all of November. Its not yet confirmed and if/when it is I will let you know. I assume you want as wide a representation of Syncros as possible and will therefore also talk to one of my sons and see if they would be interested/willing to go to Cranbourne with my vehicle. If not I might be willing to lend it to someone reliable for the weekend as it possibly will be the only one there that has been up the old telegraph track to Cape York including through Gunshot Creek. Glad to hear you may receive another commission to China!
As as short thought - If Deb and Max are not enthused about 20 hours of Syncro driving in 1 weekend, then I have a suggestion. Whilst I would not describe myself as reliable, (having irrationally and unpredictably purchased a Syncro when there are much simply modes of transport, such as a bicycle) I may be up to the task. I may be able to visit Melbourne by air and take your Syncro to Cranebourne such that there is a Cape York representative T3 on display.
Regards
Mark.
