Decouplers from Germany

Servus!

I got my hands atm on an option to get 2-3 Decouplers in from a good German source, well built items.
The package contains all you need for installing (apart of cable ties and silicon sealant), see picture attached. At the current exchange rate, price per unit is approx. $900-950 landed + $350 core charge.
Core charge can be handled through my Australian bank account, so you can avoid spending money for deposit transfers. Also I can offer you to take your nose cone mid May to Germany and send it to Alex when I'm back home. Saves you another approx. 70 bucks!
Important is, the nosecone has to be at my address in Melbourne before 10th May.

It's all a bit tight in timing, but at least one I can organise straight away (as I've got one spare housing left).

Anybody interested in that option, please let me know.

Just as note, I do not earn/gain any profit nor money with this action!

Cheers Arne

Looks like a good price, I did mine last year and total cost was ~$1700 from memory (by the time you add in freight both ways and import duty as cost with shipping was over $1000). This was the factory copy style, the US versions are a little cheaper.

Richard

The exchange rate makes it currently very attractive to bring the over and stay below the $1000 mark. Price in Germany is 699 EUR incl. 19% Tax + shipping. Final unit cost incl. shipping to AUS is 647.50 EUR + money transfer costs + core deposit  (+ 1x core shipping in AUS + 1x core shipping in Germay [just applicable if I take the nosecone back to Germany])

Decoupler is build after VW Factory specs as well with two little upgrades:
- stone protection for the shifting element
- upgraded seals for the push rod (as original quad rings were installed, but difficult to get and they also tend to leak)

Cheers Arne

Hi Arne,
Just a question , what about the 19% ? Since when do we have to pay that ?
I once shipped 11 sets out (B. Jäger) and at the time we did not have to pay
It. Maybe being carparts ? We do import natural paints for the last 20 years and
have never paid the added value tax. Remember Syncro Services ? They didn't deduct it, they called it the Export Price....
Where about do you live? Any interest to go to the cape in July ? We will start the journey 4th July from Cairns, 2 Syncros, maybe 3 plus 3 others.
We live in Port Macquarie.

Hi Hart,

sorry for confusing, we still have not to pay 19% gst. Just wanted to give a hint that if looking at prices at German part suppliers, that they all include 19% which you are can take off.

The original price of the Decoupler is 699€ incl. GST, price netto is 587.40€.

Syncro Services, Dirk... heard quite a few stories about this guy. But I think he is not anymore in scene?!? Haven't heard of him since a long time.

Living down south in Melbourne, very unlikely I can join the trip. I'd really like to and I'm sure Eva would love it getting away from the cold here. But tight up with work and being back home in June, I won't get time off. Maybe some other year.

Enjoy the trip!

Cheers Arne

Hi Hartmut,

When I bought my Decoupler in Germany from Syncro Services I had to pay the tax, as car parts are excluded from the export refund.

Hi Theo,

‘car parts are excluded’   this is in contrast to Arne’s statement about the Mehrwertsteuer (GST). I think this needs clarification.
I will try and find out.
You have moved to Brisbane ? Daughter No 2 lives/works there so will give you a call when we go up there next.

Hi Guys,

as far as I'm aware of, if the seller send it out of the EU GST is not applicable. But if you buy them on shore in Germany and you take them out of the EU as travel goods, you can't claim it back on car parts.
That's my last info i got.

Cheers Arne

Hi Arne,

Is this still an option?
