Distributor Waterproofing Cover

The waterproof cover (boot) for the syncro distributor 025 905 293 is listed as still available. It is around A$20 but there is none in Australia or Singapore so they will have to come from Germany.

I have just replaced mine after 19 years as it was starting to crack up.

Anyone interested in ordering some from Germany?

Phill, I've just emailed an enquiry to Germany about this boot, I'll let
the group know if I get back some info.

You replied previously that you thought the spark plugs were the weak
link in the waterproof chain of critical ignition components (placed
lower I guess is the reason)

But given what seems to me looks like a pretty good seal of the ignition
lead connectors onto the spark plugs, wouldn't these overcome a
waterproofing issue?

That's the reason. The cover is more of a splash proof cover, not to make the engine submersible. Also good for keeping the dirt out. VW Australia optioned it for a reason, or it probably came with the heavy duty package. (Wheels, shock absorbers etc.)

I've just priced the HT lead that goes from the coil to distributor. $60! Bargain.

They are available (not from Volkswagen directly anymore, but we´ve found a source) and we can offer them for 13,05€ plus shipping. If you need more than one we can reduce the price, e.g. for two = 9,69€ each, as shipping from the supplier to us could be split in half per article.
 
For shipping to you we have two options:
- as a small parcel for 14,00 without tracking option, no insurance, and weight up to 2 Kgs
- as a normal parcel for 40,00€ incl. tracking, insurance, and weight up to 5 Kgs

The postage sounds a bit expensive. I am guessing that the prices are in Euros?

Yes I can sort the payment details once I know the final costs depending
upon numbers ordered plus my mailing them or be picked up from me once I
receive them.

PayPal or cheque, internet banking direct deposit, cash options are all
available. Think I better do a startup import /export business ...

I've never had OS mail failure problems, so I have no need for expensive
add-on shipping services. Load of old rubbish. Others may beg to differ.
Cheapest option always works best for me.

Re-read the email I was sent ok, is that a dollar, pound, or euro typo?
