Isn't that the percentange of charge that you should not take your storage battery below to give it a maximum life? .....and 85 to 90% for a starting battery?

Your test procedure is more for starting batteries than storage/house/deep cycle/lighting batteries.
I remember learning similar from 40 years ago when Voltage was called E. Later I did a 2 day training course in the 80s at a battery manufacturer on deep cycle batteries. I have changed it to a pdf for Les to put on the web.

I have high current battery tester if anyone wan'ts their battery tested. Just call in.
