DotVW (Vic) Camping

In the last couple of years we have developed a tradition of having an overnight 'camp-out' before this event, particularly to cater for our interstate visitors. This has worked well, allowing plenty of time for syncro specific discussions before the big day, when lots of us are very busy looking around the rest of the event.
With the move back to Yarra Glen, there is the possibility of camping at the venue. VWCV has decided to make that available to the registered volunteers, and interstate guests, but has been persuaded to make a special dispensation to allow all Syncro group attendees to camp as a group.
There are some things to consider before deciding if we want to do that, or search out a regular caravan park nearby.
1. There will be toilets available, but no showers.
2. The camping area is outside the main display area, so we will need to pack up and move inside in the morning.
3. At this stage I don't know whether camp-fires would be allowed, but I suspect not.
4. Campers would need to be pre-booked for the event.
I will put up a poll to see what people's preferences are.

PS. The 4wd tour is not forgotten, but we need to wait for the weather to dry out a bit before we can scout a route.
Hey Brian. Why the need to wait for it to dry out before scouting a route. Isn't that what the syncro is for?

Regards

Michael

Hi Brian

Assuming Roger brings his new ensuite, I don't see a problem with Yarra Glen.

However, a location with ability for shower and perhaps a camp fire would be excellent, and we'd have to pack up anyhow either way it sounds like.

Thanks for your efforts on organising.

Regards
Mark.
