To damp the vibrations from gear before it goes through the cardan shaft. The closer the damper to the vibrations sources, the better in absorbing the vibration.

Subject: [Syncro_T3_Australia] Driveshaft daper
Hi All,
Just a quick question on the location of the driveshaft daper. On page 39.43 of Bentley manual it mentions that the daper faces the transmission. Just want to know why? It can be bolted in the other way, so whats the reason for it. any comment would be good.
Cheers,
Michael Roberts
