Good Morning Philippe,

Volkswagen recently discontinued the engine breather tower and the o-ring that seals it to the block. We have tried to fabricate the tower but no success. I have also looked for a o-ring to work in place the the factory one but can't seem to locate one that matches O.D. and thickness. If you have anymore questions let us know.

Thank You,

Chris

Philippe,
In my post on this topic, I stated Bus Depot as the source. You just MAY get lucky.

All,
I know the purists here poo poo the idea of using the rubber seal from an oil filter being re-deployed in an emergency somewhere else on the motor, such as to the oil cooler.
Well that's certainly rubbish.
As well, from my collection of different diameter oil filter seals, I've found a number that are a perfect fit for the breather tower. I'd even go so far as to say these are an even better fit for purpose.
You just have to find the right OD size. But unless you actually check this out for yourself, this re-deployment capability will no doubt still be poo pooed.

just use any decent o-ring, used or new, and seal the oil tower to the block with a high quality black silicone ( I like Toyota's ..or The Right Stuff ) ..
just seal it like there is no o-ring ..
It will seal just fine with no o-ring at all doing it this way.
these sealants are designed to seal surfaces with no gasket..
such as subaru oil pans ..no gasket or o-ring , just metal to metal seal with a good sealant.
Plastic-to-metal works too.
clean the surfaces well of course. Nice clean bare surfaces. It'll be fine forever.

Being workmanship-focused works better, I say, than being part-focused.
Can't use junk parts of course..
but I have seen countless new parts installed that didn't make any difference at all since the workmanship was weak.
