EUREKA! Trakka Wiring

Trakka conversion owners, please keep your fingers crossed - it looks like we might have found the original and highly elusive wiring diagram for the top Trakka conversion - the Gold Pak.

We acquired a new member as a result of the Day of the Volkswagen (and Andy Sinclair) last Sunday.

Everard Hoffman has - and I will be careful to get the descriptive hierarchy correct - a 1991 Caravelle GL Syncro with Trakka Gold Pak camping conversion.  This vehicle is recently acquired from the original owner.  It is pristine and has very low km's.  It is so well kept that it crossed my mind after I came home (and after a lot of hours trying to trace the wiring in mine) that it might just have the original Trakka owners handbook, and, who knows, it might even have the wiring diagram.

I contacted Everard and, YEA!  He has the complete handbook.  He is going to copy the diagram and post it to me.  I will scan it and put it on the website immediately.  There is a good chance that it might be a schematic as opposed to a working diagram, but that's still a long way better than what we had - nothing!

So I will park the massed multimeters and sewing machine needles until the diagram arrives.

Gday Les,

Good news indeed.

So I take it a class action against Trakka may now have legs and is
pending? Yes! haha

Cheers.

I've been resigned to the view syncros are pretty thin on the ground in
my locality.

Blow me down the other day in the local village shopping centre, I
stumble upon a 1991 sky blue syncro double cab ute in near pristine
condition. Had a long chat, he lives locally and he's owned it since
1995, had many offers to take it off his hands but I came away with the
impression he intends taking it to the grave. Can't say I blame him.

Gave him Les's brochure about this group, who knows, he may check us
out.

I better get out more.

Cheers.

Ken,

Did you get a name?  I have had to tighten up the joining requirements considerably because of spam and email address theft.  If you have a name, I will pick it up if he joins and hustle it through.  I would love to see his double cab, sounds very good indeed.

Les, yes I did ... Tom Goddard. As I said, he "may". Trouble is he
isn't computer literate but his wife is, so may be a long shot. I'll
contact him privately anyway.
